McIlwraith Croquet Club has joined the esteemed group of Queensland croquet clubs that have been playing for 100 years – or more.

Established in 1923, McIlwraith Croquet Club came into being as a result of the generosity of Lady Harriett McIlwraith, wife of a former Queensland Premier, who offered the land to Toowong Town Council to establish a park for recreational purposes.

In recognition of this exceptional milestone, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland, attended the Centenary celebration on Saturday 23 September, as the guest of honour.
