Why choose McIlwraith Croquet Club?
McIlwraith Croquet Club is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting and advancing croquet in Brisbane.
Since its establishment in September 1923, McIlwraith Croquet Club has been an emblem of sporting excellence and community engagement, in the tradition of our founder, Lady Harriett McIlwraith who offered the land to Toowong Town Council "to establish a park for recreational purposes".
With a legacy spanning a century, we pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels, while upholding the rich traditions and values associated with this elegant sport. Read about our McIlwraith Croquet Club Centenary
Learn
People of all ages and levels of ability are welcome at McIlwraith. We have mallets available on loan and can help advise players who want to buy their own. The only other things you need to play are flat-soled shoes and a sun hat. Learn how to play croquet at McIlwraith Croquet Club
Play
We have scheduled play on three days each week and members can book an available lawn any day of the week when not undergoing maintenance. Play is all year round except for an end of year break when the lawns are top-dressed. Visiting players from other local clubs are always welcome. Find playing times at Mcilwraith Croquet Club.
